Ms. Ferrari-Lugo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus and a juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico. She also holds Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University School of Law.
She is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit; and the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Ms. Ferrari is also admitted to practice in patent cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is also authorized to practice Notarial law in Puerto Rico.
Ms. Ferrari-Lugo's practice includes general civil and commercial corporate and consulting, concentrating her experience on intellectual property issues and creditors bankruptcy. In addition to her private practice, she currently serves as legal counsel for the Municipality of San Juan (2013 to present). She served as trademark examiner in the Puerto Rico Trademark Office (2010-2016). She is also an Adjunct Professor of Trademark Law at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and regularly lectures on intellectual property issues in continuing legal education seminars.
Member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the International Trademark Association. She is also a founding member of the Asociación de Profesionales de la Propiedad Intelectual de Puerto Rico.

She understands the importance of communicating with the client and providing them with the deserved attention and loyalty. Mrs. Méndez is also the head of the bankruptcy department in our firm. She manages our customer’s cases before the Bankruptcy Court, giving special attention to Proof of Claims and Payment Plans. She is also the firm's legal assistant in notarial and civil matters. |
